Job Title: Medical Technologist (MT/MLT) Profession: Medical Technologist Specialty: Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks with the possibility of permanent placement Shift: 5x8s Hours per Shift: 1200-2100 M-F or 1100-2000 M-F (flexibility required) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ASCP, BLS Certification Must-Have: Recent phlebotomy experience required Description: This is a temporary to permanent position for an MT/MLT only. Candidates should have recent phlebotomy experience. Shift schedule requires flexibility between 1200-2100 or 1100-2000, Monday through Friday. Experience with the following equipment is required: Vitek, Vitros 5600, Satellite, and manual ortho gel for blood bank. Familiarity with CERNER (EHR) is a plus. Phlebotomy is a part of the responsibilities, and BLS certification is needed. Candidates should be well-rounded generalists with experience in microbiology, blood bank, chemistry, hematology, and microscopy. No on-call responsibilities are required. Microbiology experience is beneficial, but candidates must be able to plate specimens and perform gram stains. Experience in a small rural health lab setting is preferred. Candidates should be bench tech savvy and experienced in phlebotomy. Detailed experience with the following is necessary: Cerner (Oracle), Stago, Satellite - Coagulation, Sysmex - Hematology, Microbiology - Vitek, Vitros 5600 - Chemistry, Quidel, and Ortho gel manual for blood bank. A comprehensive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, and vision coverage effective the first of the month following the date of hire. Life Flight air ambulance coverage is available, and additional air ambulance membership options can be purchased. Benefit-eligible employees begin accruing paid time off (PTO) and sick leave (LTB) from the first day of employment. PTO is not available for use until completion of the probationary period. PTO accrual includes two weeks of vacation, paid holidays, personal days, and sick days during the first five years. LTB can be accessed after specific conditions are met. This position does not require a BSN. All applicants must possess the necessary certifications and licenses to be considered.
